Shirley A. Dunn, 75, died Nov. 3, 2008, at Promise Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson. She was born May 8, 1933, in Galva, the daughter of Wilson S. and Verna V. Speaker Ashcraft. She was a graduate of Stafford High School. A resident of Hutchinson since 1957, she had previously lived in Stafford. She worked at Eaton for 21 years. She was a member of First Church of the Nazarene; she was a former member of the Friends Church, the NAACP, and a former member of the Machinist Union.

On June 5, 1952 in Stafford, she married Ralph P. Dunn. He survives. Other survivors include: a son, Lavon Dunn, Hutchinson; a daughter, Sherolyn Fehr and husband David, Waverly; two brothers, Galen Ashcraft, Lincoln, Neb., and Richard Ashcraft, Ore.; a sister, Rita Ashcraft, Warner Robins, Ga.; and eight grandchildren, Michelle, Bret, Danielle, Will, Suzanne, Leland, Daren and Calen.

She was preceded in death by a son, Ivan Dunn, four brothers, George, Hervey, Ray and Darrell Ashcraft, and a granddaughter, Linda Fehr.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the First Church of the Nazarene, Hutchinson, with Pastor Brian Smith presiding. Visitation will be held from 1 to 9 p.m. Thursday, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. that evening, at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home and Crematory, Hutchinson. Burial will follow at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or First Church of the Nazarene, in care of the funeral home.
