Dona Mae Crouch McDaniel was born in Monroe, Oklahoma on Mother’s Day, May 10, 1937 to Nettie and Elvin Crouch. Dona was the middle girl of seven sisters and two older brothers.

Dona was an avid basketball player and fan. From her high school years at Monroe High to cheering for OSU, OU, and the Thunder, there was no doubt she loved her sports.

She married Odom McDaniel, Jr. of Bogalusa, Louisiana on May 30th, 1956 in Monroe, OK.

She enjoyed a variety of successful careers including Office Manager, Church Secretary, Preschool Director, Data Entry Processor, and Administrative Assistant.
She had a gift for growing things and especially loved her African Violets.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elvin and Nettie; two brothers, Harold Crouch and Delbert Crouch; and one sister, Joyce Daves.

She is survived by her husband, Odom, a son and daughter-in-law, David and Darlene McDaniel of Carrollton, GA; one daughter and son-in-law, Lynette and Randy Popham of Edmond, OK.

She was a wonderful grandmother to her grandchildren which include, Justin and Lauren Popham, Taylor and Bridget Popham, Christopher McDaniel, and Elizabeth McDaniel.

She is also survived and deeply loved by her five sisters, Laverne Underwood, Erma Reed, Janice Harms, Mary Heavener, and Pat Tully, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A public viewing will be held Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at Matthews Funeral Home from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. The family will be present at visitation from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 4, 2016 at Monroe Community Cemetery, Monroe, OK. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Baptist Children’s Home 16301 S. Western Oklahoma City, OK 73170.
