Macon — Annie Laurel Jones Peacock, age 90, went to her eternal home on Monday, July 25, 2016. She generously donated her body to Mercer Medical College. A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 6, 2016, at 3:00 P.M. at Mathis Funeral Home in Cochran.
Mrs. Peacock was born in Hawkinsville, GA grew up in Cochran, and made her home in Macon. She was the daughter of the late Miletus Hiram and Lizzie Pauline Bozeman Jones and was the wife of the late Carlton Peacock, number 2 son of the late Pearl Porter and Mattie Horne Peacock. She was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Hudson Jones, Kathleen Jones Bowman, Algie Jones, Harvey Jones, and Lucy Jones White, and her precious baby girl Ann Latrell Peacock. She worked for many years as head of communications at Coliseum Medical Center and was active in the Garden Club and Service League in Macon. Her love and passion for her family was beyond measure.
She is survived by her son Carlton Lyndon (just Lynn) Peacock, her granddaughter, Candace Leigh McCraine, great granddaughter, Madison Michelle McCraine; brother, Jerry Delno Jones, her granddog Biscuit, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Pine Pointe Hospice, 6261 Peake Road, Macon GA 31210.
The family will greet friends after the service Saturday at Mathis Funeral Home.
