Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, July 21, 2016 at the church in Pollock, where a prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue for one hour before service time on Friday at the church.
Lenora Lucille was born on September 28, 1938 at home near Mound City, SD, to Karl and Barbara (Klingman) Goehring. She grew up three miles east of Mound City, attended country school and graduated from Herreid High School in 1956.
Lenora worked for Campbell County ASC, Campbell County Auditor and for Linton Livestock, as a clerk.
Lenora married Arlo Ryckman on March 21, 1981 in Herreid, SD. They lived on a farm north of Pollock, where she was Arlo's right hand man.
Lenora belonged to the Pollock Presbyterian Church, the WIC ladies group, American Legion Auxiliary, and the Ladies Anniversary Club. She served as secretary/treasurer of SW Fire Protection District.
Lenora was a very good cook and everyone in the family and neighborhood enjoyed her company, hospitality and meals she prepared. Her favorite past time was reading, playing cards, bowling, embroidery, gardening, baking and watching Lawrence Welk. With her kind and caring heart, she was a mother to many.
Lenora is survived by her husband, Arlo; brothers, Lester (Beverly) and Eddie (Mavis), all of Herreid; sisters-in-law, Idella Fey, Ilsa Goehring, and Erna Goehring; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Mildred Vander Laan, Bismarck, Verda Schaffer, Irene Ryckman, Pollock, Harold and Mary Ryckman, Pollock, Leona Vander Vorste, Mesa, AZ, and Ronald Ryckman of Linton, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Lenora was preceded in death by her father, Karl in 1977, her mother, Barbara in 1989, brothers, Elmer, Warren, Wilbert, Maynard, Roger, Albert, Edward, Arthur and Herb; sisters, Idella and Louise; brother-in-law, Charles Fisk, and sisters-in-law, Roberta, Marcene, Mary, and Gertie, and special friend, JoAnn Ryckman.
