Wortman, Civil War Vet Dies
Funeral Services Are to Be Held Tomorrow Afternoon
Aaron Wortman 84, a veteran of the United States armies during the civil war, died at his home, 157 Nott Terrace, Saturday afternoon at 5 o'clock.
Born in Rotterdam in March 1849, Mr. Wortman enlisted with Company H, 115th Regiment of New York, in April, 1864. He was discharged at Raleigh, NC in August 1865.
Returning to Schenectady, he took up the occupation of carriage painter and for many years maintained a shop in the Bellevue section. He held no membership in any of the civil war veteran organizations.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Gordon-Jewell Undertaking Home. Interment will be in the Vale cemetery.
Surviving relatives are his wife, the former Mary J Wiley, a native of Schenectady, two daughters, Mrs. Katherine Milmine, Detroit, and Miss Wortman, 157 Nott Terrace, city.
