Mrs. Lavonda “Sue” Gill Austin, age 70, of Dalton, GA, departed this life, Friday July 15, 2016 at her home surrounded by her family. Lavonda was born February 17, 1946 in Dalton, GA. She was the daughter of the late Mr. Jesse Lee Locke and Esther Louis Rymer Locke. She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Talley Gill; daughter, Nancy Gill; brothers, LeRoy Locke, Gary Locke and Bobby Locke; sisters, Jean Burns, Betty Jackson and Deborah Price. Lavonda was a member of Gospel Light Tabernacle. She was a hard worker and very strong willed person.
Mrs. Lavonda “Sue” Gill Austin is survived by her children; Evans Lawson Jr, , Jeffery Gill, both of Dalton, GA, Johnny and Betty Lawson of Cohutta, GA, Billy and Stephanie Gill of Ellijay, GA, David and Samantha Gill of Resaca, GA, Tammy Burns of Calhoun, GA Martha Watson of Chatsworth, GA, Denise and Erve McConnell of Dalton, GA, Christy and Daniel Meador of Dalton, GA; brother, Thomas and Jeanette Locke of Dalton, GA, Roger and Sarah Locke of Dalton, GA; brother-in-law, Tommy Price of Chatsworth, GA; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
