Mrs. Anna Schutte, 77, of Route 2, North Eighteenth, who died in her home Friday night at 9:30, was born in Melrose township July 1, 1870, a daughter of August and Elizabeth (Kaul) Vogelpohl, and had lived in this vicinity all of her life.
She attended St. Anthony school, and was a member of St. John church, St. Anne Altar Society, St. Vincent Home Society, Ladies of Charity, and St. Aloysius Orphans Society.
She was married to George Schutte, October 25, 1898, in St. Francis church. Mr. Schutte died December 9, 1908.
Surviving are: a son, Joseph; a daughter, Ceil; a brother, Henry Vogelpohl, of Riverside; two sisters: Mrs. Ed Gerding of Riverside, and Mrs. Henry Lugering of Palmyra Missouri; and four grandchildren: George, Delores, Ruth, and Dorothy Schutte. A son, Fred, preceded Mrs. Schutte in death.
