Mr. Vogelpohl was born in Oldenburg, Germany, on March 5, 1843. He came to America at the age of 18, and has lived in Quincy and vicinity practically all his entire life.
Mr. Vogelpohl was married by Reverend Schaefenmeyer in St. Boniface church, to Miss Elizabeth Kaul, who died thirteen years ago.
He made his home with his daughter Mrs. George Schuette for the past twelve years, and followed farming all of his life, working near Melrose [township, in Adams county Illinois] the early part of his career, and later, on North Eighteenth street, where he died.
