She was born in Orange, Pa., on April 12, 1911, a daughter of the late Alem and Emma (Vangasbeck) Tripp. She was a 1930 graduate of West Pittston High School. She was a member of the Lake Winola United Methodist Church, where she was a past organist, Sunday school teacher, and United Methodist women's president.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Martin J. Stage; son Ronald Vangasbeck; step-sons Martin Stage and Elwood Vangasbeck; 10 brothers and sisters.
Surviving are daughters Shirley Courtright, Fair Oaks, Calif.; Cheryl McGovern, Lake Winola; daughter-in-law Betty Vangasbeck, Lake Winola; step-sons Robert Stage, Summerville, New Jersey; Richard Stage, Vervella, Calif.; step-daughters Ann Scott, Mesa, Ariz.; Nellie Lancaster, San Leandro, Calif.; Naomi Brown, Hayward, Calif.; Wahneta Geiger, Bridgewater, New Jersey; Dorothy Kolans, DeBary, Fla.; several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. from the Lake Winola United Methodist Church with Rev. Joan S. Dodson, pastor of the Lake Winola United Methodist Church. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Lake Winola. Friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
