Darwin Daniel Madsen 1925 ~ 2005 Darwin D. Madsen, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, passed peacefully in his sleep on January 28, 2005 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Darwin was born July 13, 1925 in Rigby, Idaho to Eileen Leonora Ellsworth Madsen and Loyal Matthew Madsen.
Served in the United States Navy during World War II from 1943 to 1946. Served an honorable mission in the Central States Mission from 1946 to 1948.
Darwin married his sweetheart, Lillie Poole Madsen, the Love of his Life and Joy of his Existence, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on May 6, 1949.
He worked in the Welfare Department for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for 22 years. He was a faithful member of the LDS Church and served in many callings: Bishop, High Council, Young Mens and Elders Quorum Presidency. Together they served as missionaries in the Jordan River Temple in 1984 and in the Welfare Department in 1995. His most important calling was that of a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 1, 2005 at the Taylorsville 15th Ward located at 1451 West Atherton Drive (4375 South). A viewing will be held Monday, January 31, 2005 at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 So. Redwood Rd from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday at the church, 11:30 - 12:45 p.m. Interment: Murray City Cemetery.
