Lonnie Weldon Cryer, 88, went to be in the arms of Jesus on Sunday, July 17, 2016, at Ardmore. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, July 21, 2016, at CrystalRock Cathedral of Ardmore with the Reverend Walt Spradling officiating.

Lonnie was born on April 22, 1928, at Powell, to William Alfred Cryer and Nora Mae (Gray) Cryer. He married Bonnie Lois Moxley on Feb. 5, 1949, at Vernon, Texas. The couple moved to Russet, and Lonnie worked alongside his father on the family farm. They moved to Ardmore in 1950, where he worked as a self-employed carpenter. He worked on many of the homes and businesses in Carter County and surrounding areas. Lonnie became a member of Crystal Rock in 1990, gave his life to Christ, and dedicated his life to the service of his Lord. Sunday morning became the only destination he was interested in. When Lonnie’s girls were young, he enjoyed spending his time coaching their softball teams. He loved his family and being with his grandchildren who he loved deeply. His pride and joy was Prissy, his miniature dachshund.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Linda Conyer; sons-in-law, Dale Rushing and Skip McCaskill; three brothers, Floyd Cryer, Elmer Cryer, and O’Dell Cryer; grandsons, Mark Cryer, Paul Woodruff, and Mitchell Cryer; and great-granddaughter, Stormy Lusk.

Lonnie is survived by his wife of 67 years, Bonnie Cryer; daughters, Hedy Cornish, Helen Kyle and husband, Larry, Marsha Clark and husband, Eric, Debbie Rushing, and Vicky McCaskill; and sons, Terry Cryer and wife, Debbie, and Calvin Cryer and wife, Liz; son-in-law, Ronnie Conyer; 15 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Serving as pallbearers will be his grandsons, Kendel Kyle, Kody Kyle, Danny McClendon, Garris Buckaloo, Price Buckaloo, Dakotah Buckaloo, Chasse Stevens, and Aaron Conyer. Honorary bearers will be Tommy Tucker, David Gunsolus, Jay Oxley and Rocky Shockley.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday evening, July 20, 2016, at Griffin~Hillcrest of Ardmore.
