Fred worked for Rodale Manufacturing, the former Boyertown Casket Company, First National Bank of Allentown, Meridian Bank, Core States Bank, and First Union, where he retired in 2003 as the Director of Purchasing. He honorably served his country in the Navy during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He was an active member of St. John's U.C.C., Emmaus, having served as a soloist for many years and was involved in many activities. He was a member, past president, and Deputy District Governor of the Emmaus Lion's Club, member and steward of Emmaus Lodge #792 F&AM, member of the Rajah Shrine and was active with the Chanters, member of the Lehigh Shrine Club, the Emmaus VFW Post 7088, Topton American Legion, Emmaus Fire Co. No. 1, and the TPA. Freddie had a love for cooking, singing, and his granddaughters.
Survivors: Wife; Son, Kirk M. Bartholomew of Mertztown; Daughter, Abby Lynn Jung of Emmaus; Sister, Gladys A. wife of Russell Ruth of Daytona, FL; Sister-in-Law, Elaine B. Bartholomew of Emmaus; Granddaughters, Alyssa S. Graves and Leanna E. Brezak. He was predeceased by a brother, Richard G. Bartholomew.
Services: Memorial, Masonic and Lion's Club Services will be held Sat. October 12, 2013 at 11:00 AM. in St. John's U.C.C., 139 N. 4th Street, Emmaus. Friends may call 9:30 to 11:00 AM in the church. Interment will be private in Zion's Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery. Schantz Funeral Home, P.C. is handling the arrangements.
