Son of Don Jose Antonio and Maria Victoria (Dominguez) Estudillo. Veteran of the California Indian Wars, 1852-1854. Salvador Estudillo married Piedad Altamirano in 1857, and lived in the historic Estudillo Adobe in San Diego until 1887, when he moved his family and took up ranching in Los Angeles. From his obituary in the Los Angeles Times, May 1, 1922:

"ESTUDILLO, at Norwalk, Calif., April 30, Salvadore B. Estudillo, a native of California, aged 86 years. Funeral Tuesday, May 2, at 9:30 a.m., from the chapel of Cunningham & O'Connor, 1081 South Grand avenue. Requiem Mass at St. Vincent's Church at 10 a.m. Interment, Calvary Cemetery."
