Kathleen Abrams Ewell, 69, was born October 31, 1946 in Logan to Milton Charles Abrams and Lucile Marie Pixton Abrams.

She was the second of three children. As a child, she lived with her family in the Cache and Salt Lake valleys. She enjoyed theater, poetry, and spending time with her cousins.

She received her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Utah State University and spent time teaching in Utah, Arizona, Oregon, and Idaho. She loved educating and took a personal interest in all of her students.

Her greatest joy came from being a mother and grandmother. She gave birth to five children: Bryon, Nathan, Laura, Kenton, and Celeste. Through marriage, she was gifted to mother seven other children: John, Jason, Jennifer, Richard, Teresa, Clinton, and Trudi. She had twenty-eight grandchildren.

In 1986, she met and married her eternal sweetheart, David Leavitt Ewell. On their first anniversary, July 11, 1987, they were sealed in the Jordan River Temple.

She had a deep testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It provided strength, guidance, and inspiration throughout her life. She spent many years in the service of her family, church, friends, and neighbors. Her love and compassion enriched and changed many lives.

She was preceded in death by her beloved David. She is survived by her children, Bryon (Mishawn) Merrill, Nathan (Anna) Merrill, Laura (Jeremy) Vincent, Kenton (Lanie) Beckstead, Celeste Butterfield, and Richard (Chris) Ewell, Teresa Ewell, Clinton (Clara) Ewell, and Trudi (Brad) Baker. Surviving grandchildren are Cordell, Marcus, Michelle, Alexander, Jacob, Kenyon, Emmagrace, Iniko, Willow, Isabella, Braitton, Luke, Jaron, Naomi, Elijah, Taelynn, Jada, Martin, Lilah-Rose, Zander, Samuel, Maximus, Carrie, Marinda, Sawyer, Brody, Braven, and Zaybri. Surviving siblings are Douglas (Kathy) Abrams, Sharon (Jack) Jenks, Barbara Jensen, Walter (Florence) Ewell, and Harriet (Ramon) Swapp. She is also survived by a very dear friend, Russell Burnham.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 18, 2016 in the Mount Jordan Second Ward Chapel, 9331 South 300 East, Sandy. A viewing will be held at the church on Sunday, July 17, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and prior to the services on Monday from 9:30-10:30 a.m.
