Gladys Martiel Jacobs, 78, of Cove, Ark., died Thursday at the Mena Medical Center.

She was born Nov. 28, 1918, in Howard County, Ark., to the late Earnest Monroe Stewart and the late Mary Elizabeth McNutt Stewart.

A homemaker, Glayds married the late Odis "Pete" Jacobs in December 1935 in Cove. She was of the Baptist faith and attended the Immanuel Baptist Church in Cove.

Survivors include a son, Kenneth Jacobs of Cove, Ark.; two daughters, Helen Fink of Tillamook, Ore., and Betty Stegall of Idabel; one brother, Quincy Stewart of Oklahoma City; two sisters, Nolas Walker of Plunketville and Winnie French of Jacksonville, Fla.; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Bessie Logan.

Funeral services will be held today at 2:30 p.m. at Pleasant Grove Church with Glen McClung officiating.

Burial will follow in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Cove, under the direction of Beasley-Wood Funeral Home of Mena, Ark.
