MRS. ALEX FLETCHER, PIONEER RESIDENT OF PRINCETON, DEAD

PRINCETON, Ia., April 22. -- Mrs. Margaret Ann Fletcher, 76 years of age, wife of Alexander Fletcher and a resident of Scott county for the past 56 years, died at her home here at 7 a.m. today.

Miss Margaret Torrens was born in Rann county, Donegal, Ireland, April 23, 1850. She married Alexander Fletcher in Ireland, June 21, 1870. They came to the United States immediately after their marriage and after visiting with her parents in Ohio for a short time moved to Scott county.

Mr. and Mrs. Fletcher celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1920. Mrs. Fletcher had been ill for a long time. She was a member of the United Presbyterian church and had always been active in church work. She was the mother of eleven children, ten of whom are living.

Surviving are her husband an the following children: Mrs. L. H. Ellsworth of Davenport, Mrs. George McConnell of Wray, Colo., John A. Fletcher, Mrs. William McClenahan, Mrs. Harry Brown, Miss Mathilda Fletcher, James T. Fletcher, Thomas A. Fletcher, Mrs. Robert Auliff and Mrs. Orvie Birney, all of Princeton, two brothers, John and James Torrens and one sister, Mrs. James Stewart, all of Ohio, 18 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services are pending word from relatives.
