From Grant W. Sullivan, FAG contributor:
"This is to let you know that there is disagreement as to Katherine's Maiden Name. According to "Snow-Estes" ( The Snow-Estes ancestry” [Vol. 1: George Wheeler Family] (pp.1-246 thru 1-253) ), Katherine was likely a daughter of John Wheeler (1563 - 1644) & his wife Elizabeth, of Cranfield, Bedford, England. There are other sources which make similar claims, rather than Katherine's Maiden Name being "Pin" (or "Penn").
In addition, Snow-Estes says that George Wheeler was married twice, and that Katherine was the 2nd wife. George had 2 sons named "William" (William (1) died before before the 2nd son was born, so the name got re-used, with William (3) being born in 1631), by his 1st wife, which some sources say was "Mary Studd". Therefore, George didn't marry Katherine until sometime after 1631, but before the family moved to Massachusetts. Snow-Estes says that the 1st 4 children of George & Katherine were born in England, w/ Sarah being the 1st born in Concord, MA in 1640.
Thanks for your consideration,
