BARKHOUSE, Wilbert Alexander - 78, Delhaven, Kings Co., passed away Monday, December 8, 2003, in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Medford, Kings Co., he was a son of the late Clarence and Charlotte (Conrad) Barkhouse. He was a retired carpenter and a member of Pereaux Baptist Church. He was also a member of a number of ecumenical choirs, including the Pereaux Baptist Church Choir. He is survived by his wife, the former Shirley Edna Rhodenizer; daughter, Sheri-Lee (Lawrence) Stevens, Avonport; son, Bernard John, Delhaven; sisters, Evelyn Carver, Grand View Manor, Berwick; Violet Dennison, British Columbia; Reta Spinney, New Minas; Dorothy Wile, Waterville; Doris Leopold, New Ross; brother, Alfred, Medford; step granddaughter, Kristen; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Randy; brother, Aubrey. Visitation will be 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Thursday, December 11, in W.C. Hiltz/White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, December 12, in Pereaux Baptist Church, Rev. Karl Uhrstrom, Rev. Gary Manthorne, and Rev. Dr. M.R. Cherry officiating. Burial will take place in Pereaux Cemetery. Family flowers only by request. Donations in memory may be made to Canadian Cancer Society or Pereaux Baptist Church. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to W.C. Hiltz/White Family Funeral Home, Kentville.
