Mrs. J. W. Hollopeter, a pioneer resident of Allen county, died Wednesday at her home in Leo at the age of 76 years. Death followed an illness of six months from paralysis. She had been a member of the Methodist Episcopal church for fifty-four years and was widely known and universally esteemed.
Mrs. Hollopeter was born in Pennsylvania, but came in 1846 to Allen county as a girl of 13. In 1852 she was united in marriage to Mr. Hollopeter, and they settled upon a farm near Cedarville. The husband died seventeen years ago and ten years later the widow took up her residence in Leo. Surviving are eight children and three step-children-Mrs. (Lydia)Regina Myers, of Great Bend, Kan; Mrs. (Mary)Virginia Sole(Sowle) of Ossian Ind; Rev. B.F.(Brenton Silas)Hollopeter of Wabash Ind.; C. L.(Clinton Lee) Hollopeter of Wooster, Ohio; S. E.(Samuel Elliot) Hollopeter of Toledo, Ohio; Clarence H.(Harvey) Hollopeter of Topeka, Ind.; Levi H.(Lewellan) Hollopeter of Harlan, Ind.; J. A.(James Augustus) Hollopeter of Norwalk, Ohio; O.(Oscar)E. Hollopeter of Akron, Ohio and Hiram(Simpson) Hollopeter of Hicksville, Ohio.
Funeral services Friday morning at 10 o'clock from the Methodist Episcopal church at Leo. Rev. Mr. Dickson officiating.

PIONEER WOMAN DIES AT LEO - Mrs. J. W. Hollopeter Passes Away After Six Months' Illness - Had been a resident of Allen County since 1846 and was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church for fifty-four years.
Mrs. J. W. Hollopeter, 76 years of age, a pioneer resident of Cedar Creek township, died at 9 o'clock Wednesday morning at her home in Leo after six months' illness of paralysis.
Mrs. Hollopeter was born in Pennsylvania but came to Allen county when a girl thirteen years of age. In 1852 she was united in marriage to Mr. Hollopeter and they settled on a farm near Cedarville. The marriage ceremony was performed by the Rev. A. Douglas.
Following Mr. Hollopeter's death seventeen years ago Mrs. Hollopeter remained on the farm until seven years ago when she removed to Leo. She was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church for fifty-four years, and was always an untiring worker for the good of the church. Surviving she leaves eight children and three stepsons, Mrs. (Lydia)Regina Myers, of Great Bend, Kan.; Mrs. (Mary)Virginia Sole(Sowle), of Ossian, Ind.; the Rev. B.
