Robert (Bobby) was born on June 19, 1930, to Robert Dreher and Lily Mae W. Hungerpeler and raised in St. Matthews, SC. In his early years, he helped his father on the farm and with the Country Store and attended Calhoun County Schools. He went on to be employed at Pearlstine Distributors. After being drafted into the Army, he served his country as a Private First Class in the First Calvary Division. He went on to serve three years in the Korean War. After the war, he came back home and went to work at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. He then met and married, the love of his life, Ernestine Dildine, in 1954. Bobby and Ernistine just celebrated 62 years on May 11th. Bobby loved his family, all his dear friends and his church, Gethsemane Baptist Church, where he served as a Sunday school teacher and Deacon for many years. He loved to pass time farming and gardening. He loved all of his pets, especially his rat terrier, Tammy. He enjoyed sharing his many stories about his time in the Korean War. He loved to camp, fish and hunt. He was a member of the American Legion. In May of 2016, Charlie Bell, of the American Legion, presented him with a handmade patriotic Quilt of Valor and pillow sham in honor of his service to our country. All of his children remarked that he was "the greatest dad in the world". He is loved and remembered forever by all of his family and friends.

He leaves behind his wife, Ernestine D. Hungerpeler; his daughters, Diane (Gene) Rucker, Brenda (Jimmy Lee) Mitchell, Teresa D. Hungerpeler and James Brooks; his son, Jimmy (Michelle) Spires; seven grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren; his sisters, Virginia Hair and JoAnn (Robert) Guytine; as well as, special nephews and nieces.

A special thanks to Pathway Hospice, Tionnie Armstrong, CNA, and Donna Goodwin, RN and all the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, during this last season of his life. Also a very special thanks to his niece, Tracy Bates Thompson, for all of her loving care. "See you in Heaven Pa"!
