Etrula “Trudy” Strickland Lowe, age 73, of Nebo, passed away Sunday, July 3, 2016 at her home with her family by her side. Originally from Madison County, Trudy was born March 4, 1943 to the late Merritt and Gertrude Rathbone Strickland. She was a member of Bethel Free Will Baptist Church for 20 years. Trudy enjoyed working and it was an outlet in her life. She owned her own business, Trudy’s Tees, and also made jewelry. Trudy will be remembered for her giving spirit and forgiving heart. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. In addition to her parents, Trudy was preceded in death by two sons, Dennis and Duane Ray.

Left to cherish Trudy’s memory is her husband of 23 years, Roger Lowe of Elizabethton, TN; as well three children, Sharon Crowder and husband Danny of Nebo, Terry Haney and wife Stacey of Marion, and Rickey Ray of Nebo. Also surviving is one sister, Clara Brinkley of Marion; two brothers, Kenneth Strickland and wife Wathian of Marion and Carrol Strickland and Wife Betty of Carleston, SC; five grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

A service in honor of Trudy’s life will be held on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at 3:00 pm at Westmoreland Funeral Home with Rev. Ray Stockton officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Bethel Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery.
