Full name: Sophia Maria Catharina Elisabeth Runge Lehmann but went by "Catherine." Married Johann "Jacob" Traugott Lehmann in 1831 in Germany. The couple and their 7 children sailed from Hamburg to New York in 1856 on the ship Rhein and made their way to rural Watertown, Jefferson County, Wisconsin.
Catherine is buried in the Whitney Cemetery (Mead Hill) but her stone is missing. Buried by her is her son, Carl Frederick Lehmann who came home sick from the Civil War and died soon after. Also buried by her are two grandchildren, Ernest Lehmann & Ida Johanna Maria Lehmann, son & daughter of Catherine's son, Johann "John" Traugott Lehmann & his wife, Mathilda Borchardt Lehmann. Both children died as babies.
