Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church Sunday afternoon, 2 o’clock, for Mrs. Ed BRYAN, who passed away in her sleep early Friday morning. “Grandma” BRYAN as she was lovingly known by young and old, has made her home for several years with her son, W. C. BRYAN.
Rev. William E. FISHER, Methodist pastor, was in charge of the funeral service. Rev. Summers, Methodist pastor of Goodwell, Okla., assisted with the final rites at the Bethany Cemetery, where the remains were laid to rest in the family plot.
Music was given by a quartet composed of Mr. and Mrs. Rufus BOLERJACK, Miss Ruth BOND and Frank HERNDON with Mrs. A. P. McCELVEY at the piano. Pall bearers were W. L. SEAGO, Arthur GRAY, Howard HOLT, G. M. COOPER, R. H. HOLLAND and C. F. JONES. Granddaughters carried the flowers. They were Mrs. Marshal HINDS, Mrs. Joe PERKINS, Mrs. Norman CRUM, Miss Ella BRYAN, Miss Betty Jean SHORB and Miss Louise BRYAN.

Emily Vasa ELLIS was born to W. D. and Elizabeth ELLIS on January 20, 1857 at Arkadelphia, Ark. She departed this life at Perryton, Texas, May 29, 1942 at the age of 85 years, 4 months and 9 days.
She was married to Edgar BRYAN at Arkadelphia on December 31, 1874. They made their home there until 188- when they moved to Ellis County, Texas for eight years, going from there to the Indian Territory in 1888. The family came to Beaver County, Okla., in 1910 and made their home on a farm until 1928 when they moved to Perryton.
Nine children were born to this union; four preceded their mother in death, three in infancy and Edgar M. at the age of 48 years. The husband passed away in 1935 at the age of 84 years.
Left to mourn the passing of this kind and loving mother, who was a true friend to all who knew her, are four sons, W. C. Gus and Joe of Perryton and Walker of Gray, Oklahoma; one daughter, Mrs. J. U. MITCHUSSON of Goodwell; 35 grandchildren; 40 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren.
At the age of nine, she was converted and united with the Methodist Church to which she remained loyal until the end. She was always a faithful worker in the church, ever ready to speak a word of cheer or lend a helping hand.
On a lovely May morning, when nature was in her beauty her work on earth was finished. It can well be said that she fought a good fight, kept faith, finished her course of 76 years of service to her church and has gone to her reward.
