George was the son of Mike Bembeia and Victoria Prebak. Scattered at sea with his wife of 45 years, Reba Bamby.

He served in the Army during World War II, and is listed in the DAR World War II Book of Rememberance.

George played the accordian professionally and was a regular on the Spade Cooley TV show. He was a member of the Sons of the Pioneers and performed in numerous Roy Rogers Western movies as a musician and in the cast.

He later owned a music shop in West Covina, California.
