Daughter of James Henry and Denada Evelyn (Nicholson) Blankenship, Ruby married first, about 1910, John "Johnny" William Kenny and two children were born of this union; Virginia Hazel and James B. Kenny. John W. Kenny died in 1926 and Ruby moved to New York City with her children to pursue her career in show business as a vaudeville actress. It was there she met Benjamin Henry Franklin, a fellow actor, and they were married on the 9th of December 1929 in Manhattan. No children were born of this union. Ruby died on the 15th of December 1932 at French Hospital in Chelsea and was buried at Kensico Cemetery, in the Vaudeville section, on the 19th of December 1932.
