Daughter of Benjamin Barton and Mary Ann (Prather) Nicholson, Denada married James Henry Blankenship on the 9th of March 1891 in Bibb county, Georgia and three known children were born to this union; Thelma Mae, Ruby C. and William Mallory Blankenship. James died on the 5th of November 1929 in Manhattan, New York. Denada then married Dorsey Conger Blakely on the 2nd of April 1938 in Atlanta, Georgia.

Suddenly, on Tuesday, June 10, 1947, at her residence, Lorton, Va., EVELYN D. BLAKELY, beloved wife of Dorsey C. Blakely. She is also survived by one son and one daughter. Remains resting at Hall funeral home, Occoquan, Va. Funeral services, Thursday, June 12, at 2:30 p.m., Eastern Standard Time, at Woodlawn Baptist Church near Engleside, Fairfax County, Va. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery. Relatives and friends invited.
