Elsie Slome Delugach, age 87 born in Frankfurt, Germany died June 26, 2016 after a short illness at the Memphis Jewish Home, where she resided. Elsie is survived by her daughters and their husbands, Marsha and Jim Shuford and Judy and Sandy Felsenthal; her grandchildren, Kary and Adam Lewis, Brian and Shaina Shuford, Elliot, Ethan, Elaine and Shawn Felsenthal and her great-grandchild, Anna Lewis. Her son, James Goodman Delugach "Jimmy" preceded her in death. Elsie moved to Memphis from Morristown, Tennessee to attend nursing school, where she met her husband of 63 years, Jay Goodman Delugach who preceded her in death. She was a registered nurse at Methodist Hospital for many years and even after retirement she continued nursing friends and family throughout her life. Her last patient was her husband whom she cared for through 12 years of illness with love and devotion. Elsie and her family were appreciative of the caring nursing, administrative and activities staff at the Memphis Jewish Home who continued to create a fulfilling life for her even as her health began to decline. Elsie was a member of Temple Israel, and Salon Circle of Memphis. The funeral service will be 9:00 a.m. today, June 28th at the Levy-Cooper Chapel in Temple Israel Cemetery, 1708 Hernando Rd.
