She was the daughter of Sterling Chambers and Sarah Barr Chambers and was born January 20, 1874 in Richland Township, Miami County, Indiana.
Della had been married three times. First she married Charles Henry McCoy on December 31, 1891, in Miami County, Indiana, when she was 17 years old. They divorced with 1 child from the union, Charles Raymond McCoy. She then married Lumsden 'Lum' Townsend on September 27, 1902, in Miami, Indiana, when she was 28 years old. They had two children: Luster and Ruby Townsend. Her husband Lumsden 'Lum' passed away on August 8, 1909, in Peru, Indiana, at the age of 31. They had been married 6 years. Peru, Indiana, Feburary 1-Last rites for Mrs. Della King, 74 of route 2, Peru, widow of Homer King, who died at the home of her brother, Daniel Chambers, 357 West 7th Street, were conducted at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the Drake Flowers funeral home.
The Rev. H. L. Johnston officiated. Interment was in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Claude Ramer, Macy route one; the brother, and two sisters, Mrs. C. M. Townsend of Macy, and Mrs. Jane Brewer of Wabash.
Born in Richland Township in 1874, the deceased was a daughter of Sterling and Sarah Barr Chambers. She was married in 1913. Her husband died in 1947
