Enlisted as a private Mar. 4, 1862 in the 50th Georgia Infantry, Company F. Wounded Battle of Fox's Gap 9/14/1862. Wounded Battle of Chancellorsville 5/3/1863. Died of wounds in Richmond 5/23/1863.

William Bennett Bachelor, Jr. was born in Iron City, Decatur County(became Seminole County in 1920) Georgia in 1833). He was married to Martha Traywick(b.10 Jun 1842,d. 31 Mar 1907) on 15 April 1858. To this union there was born two daughters, Julia Ann Bachelor(b.05 Mar 1859) and Elizabeth Bachelor(b. 25 Apr 1861).

After his death, Martha married Thomas P. King(b. 11 Jun 1845, d. 06 Jan 1924) on November 13, 1866.
