His residence was 106 E. Main St. He had entered the nursing home six weeks ago. Mr. Briel was a native of Karthaus, son of John S. and Lucy Hugar Briel. He retired due to failing health. Surviving are his wife, the former Emma Fowler, two daughters, Mrs. L. G. McEvoy Altoona; Mrs. W. A. McGowan, McLean, Va.; also four sisters and a brother, Miss Ida Briel, Karthaus; Mrs. M. G. Maines, Philadelphia; Mrs. W. L. Maines, Media; Mrs. John S. Smith, and G. S. Briel, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

Main St., who died Tuesday, June 29, 1965 at 1:10 p.m. in the Lock Haven Nursing Home. Interment, St. Mary's Cemetery. Friends will be received at the Moriarty Funeral Home after 7 p.m. Thursday.
