Annetta J. Giesmann, 87, of Sterling, Nebraska died at her home on Sunday evening, October 15, 2006. She was born on November 10, 1918 at rural Crab Orchard and graduated from Sterling High School in 1936. She taught country school for three years. She married Harvey H. Giesmann on April 21, 1939 at the St. John Lutheran Parsonage in Sterling and they lived and farmed near Sterling. She was a homemaker and seamstress and worked for several years as a receptionist at the Zink-Fox Funeral Home in Sterling. She was an active member of the St. John Lutheran Church and the women's group of the church.
Survivors include one son, Larry Giesmann and his wife Myla of Sterling; two daughters, Marilyn Moss of Syracuse and Joyce Moss and her husband Orlin of Burr; seven grandchildren and four step-grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and nine step-great-grandchildren; two brothers, John Aden and wife Irene of Lincoln and Paul Aden and wife Helen of Syracuse; one sister, Oleta Bunker and husband Bob of North Bend, Oregon; one sister-in-law, Irene Schulte of Syracuse; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Eck F. and Tena G. Meyer Aden; her husband, Harvey, (2001); one son-in-law, Harold Moss and five nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 20, 2006 at 10:30 A.M. at the St. John Lutheran Church of Sterling, Nebraska with Pastor Doyle Karst officiating. Burial will be in the Sterling Cemetery. A family prayer service will be held 10:15 A.M. Friday in the fellowship room of the church. A memorial has been established to the St. John Lutheran Church with Shannon and Erma Hazen in charge. The body will lie in state at the Zink-Fox Funeral Home of Sterling, Nebraska from 5:00 P.M. Tuesday evening until 8:00 P.M. Thursday evening and then at the church on Friday one hour preceding the services. The family will meet and greet friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. on Thursday evening at the Zink-Fox Funeral Home.
