Koosharem, Utah

Robert Dahl Anderson, 77, passed away at the Sevier Valley Medical Center on June 17 2016, in Richfield, Utah. He was born October 7, 1938, in Salina, Utah, the first son and second child of Robert Donal and Reine Gleave Anderson.

Bob was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

He acquired a strong work ethic working on the farm with his father. He completed the first ten years of school in Koosharem and then graduated from the Richfield High School. He attended Utah State University for one winter.

He enlisted in the United States Army and served for three years, with tours of duty in Japan and Korea. Upon returning home, Bob and his brothers, Jack and Lanny, went to Alaska and worked for Reeves Airlines. Later he and Jack worked in construction setting up homes for the native Alaskans and government installations. During this time they would return home during the winter months when it was too cold to work. One construction job took Bob to Amchitka Island where the Atomic Energy Agency conducted the last atomic bomb test.

When he retired, Bob moved home to Grass Valley and worked on the family farm. He also focused his interests and much of his time back into the cattle industry. His expertise and passion was in genetic selection, and improvement. He played a vital role in the development of Chris and Jolene's registered Angus herd. He also enjoyed using the computer to manage his stock investments.

Bob loved to fish and hunt with his family and friends and spent some winters trapping fur animals.

He married Elaine Strange. They had one child, Robert Brian. They later divorced. He married Sharon Watkin. They were later divorced, but remained very good friends.
