Myrtle Hendricks honored at party on her 100th birthday
Mrs. Myrtle Hendricks was honored at a party on her 100th birthday hosted by her grandson and his wife, Richard and Janet Watt, at their home.
Mrs. Hendricks was born on May 19, 1889 in Streeter, Ill. She was married to the late Clinton Franklin Abbott in Elmore, Minn., and the couple owned and operated a grocery store for many years in Fullerton. They had two children, the late Verda Lola Abbott Watts and the late Beryl Eugene Abbott. Following her husband's death in 1950, she married the late John Hendricks in 1956. She has lived in Lodi for 25 years and presently resides at Vista Ray Convalescent Home. She enjoys music, visiting with her friends and reading and loves to fish and dance.
She is the grandmother of Garry Abbott, Robert Abbott, Larry Watts and Richard Watts; great-grandmother of Craig Watt, Keith Watts, Jean Watts, James Abbott, Wendy Pilkerton, Laurie Wagenman, Shari Kinsley and Mike Abbott; and the great-great-grandmother of Jacob Wagenan, Zackry Abbott and Justine Kinsley.
Among the many cards she received was one from President and Mrs. George Bush.

Myrtle Hendricks, 102, of Lodi died Sept. 20 at a local convalescent hospital. She was a native of Illinois and moved to Lodi from Fullerton in 1965.
She and her late husband owned and operated a grocery store in Fullerton for many years before retiring.
Mrs. Hendricks was preceded in death by her first husband, Clinton F. Abbott; her second husband, Jack Hendricks; and two children.
She is survived by four grandchildren, Larry Watts, Richard Watts, Bob Abbott and Gary Abbott; and by numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren.
