O’FALLON, Mo. – Betty Irene West Stamm McCulloch, age 86, of O’Fallon, Missouri, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 12, 2016, at Meadowlands Assisted Living in O’Fallon, Missouri. Betty was born on February 24, 1930, in a farmhouse in New Paris, Ohio, to Charles and Martha West. She was a 1948 graduate of Jefferson Township High School. Betty moved to Richmond, Indiana, at the age of 18, where she later married Joseph H. Stamm of Glenwood, Indiana. They were married for 57 years and spent most of their married life in Richmond. Betty and Joe attended First Assembly and Lighthouse Assembly of God, where Betty was the church organist. They later moved to O’Fallon, Missouri, where Joe passed away. Betty, again, fell in love and married Jim McCulloch. She was a founding board member of the Stamm-Koechlein Family Foundation. Betty loved to travel and especially enjoyed being able to be with her family this last December to celebrate the marriage of Dave and Elena in Maui. She loved to oil paint and play gospel music on both the piano and organ. Survivors include her son, David (Elena) Stamm of San Francisco, California; daughters, Kathy (George) Gage of Lake St. Louis, Missouri, and Linda (Curtis) Johnson of Modesto, California; grandchildren, Michael Gage, Laura Paye, Ellen Arrington, Maggie Johnson, Andrew Johnson, and Abby Johnson; and great-grandchildren, James Gage and Zacheriah Johnson. She was preceded in death by her devoted husbands, Joe Stamm and Jim McCulloch; parents; sisters; and brothers. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2016, at 3:00 p.m. in Earlham Cemetery.
