Bernard L. Verzole, 92, of Syracuse passed away on Monday. Bernie was a graduate of Nottingham High and earned a Bachelor of Science from Syracuse University in 1951. He served in the Army during World War II and was a Purple Heart recipient. Bernie retired from Norfolk-Dedham Insurance Co., where he worked as an agent. Survivors include his brother, Douglas (Josephine) Verzole of Canastota; his sisters, Rosemary (Robert) Garretson of Connecticut and Marjory Donovan of Syracuse and many nieces and nephews. Burial will be Friday at 1 p.m. from Carter Funeral Home, 1604 Grant Blvd., Syracuse, in St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt.
