Sweetwater - Mary Letha Clayton, 79, died Monday, January 10, 2005 in Rolling Plains Hospital in Sweetwater.

Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Wednesday in McCoy Chapel of Memories with Rev. Keith Clifton officiating. Burial will be in the Garden of Memories, directed by McCoy Funeral Home.

She was born Dec. 8, 1925 in Stamford. She married R. E. Clayton on Aug. 12, 1949 in Sweetwater. She was a member of the Lamar Street Baptist Church and had lived in Sweetwater since 1949. She worked for Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital, retiring about six years ago from the insurance billing department. She was also a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlotte "Lottie" Brannon in 1993 and Carl M. Brannon in 1953.

She is survived by her husband, R. E. Clayton of Sweetwater; two daughters, Pat Clayton of Big Spring and Marilee Drummond of Forsan; three sons, Dwight Clayton of Baytown, Steve Clayton of Houston and Rodney Clayton and wife Charlene of Southgate, Mich.; 13 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
