She was born on October 31, 1928 in York, Pennsylvania to Elijah and Nora Harrell. She married Benjamin Franklin Lewis on December 11th, 1948. He preceded her in passing on September 3rd, 1970. Irene is survived by five children, Roger Lee Lewis of Franklin; Diane Watkins of Seymour; Benjamin Foster Lewis of Seymour; Marie (Jim) Connors of Greenwood and Joseph Anthony (Lorie) Lewis, Sr. of York, Pennsylvania; fourteen grandchildren, Tina (Allen) Feldscher, Toby Lewis, Tera Lewis, Monica (Gary) Cooper, Benjamin Lewis, Brent Lewis, Inger Russell, Jason Connors, Lisa (Michael) Ross, Justin Connors, Justin Lepley, Mikel Lewis, Joey (Monica) Lewis, Jr., and Kristina (Dustin Leese) Lewis; twenty-seven great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in passing by her parents, infant daughter; five brothers and four sisters.
Irene attended school in Pennsylvania.
She was employed as a manager at Dunkin Donuts for several years.
Irene was of the Nazarene faith. She loved reading her bible and having it read to her. She enjoyed music. She was a member of the Ransford Chapter, Order of Eastern Star.
