Calistro "Kelly" Chacón, age 77, was born on December 19, 1938.
Kelly completed his journey on this earth on Sunday, June 12, 2016.
Kelly was a lifelong resident of the Barelas neighborhood, a peacetime veteran of the Vietnam War.
Kelly was preceded in death by his parents, Trinni and George Chacón, nephew, Victor Chacón and niece, Pamela Pacheco.
Kelly is survived by brother, Wilfred Chacón, sister, Shirley Lovato and her husband, Ruben, aunt, Josie Arellano, sister-in-law, Katy Chacón, nieces, Lisa, Valerie and Ann Marie, nephews, Greg, Bullets, Vince, Mark and John and many great nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family would like to thank the staff at Christus St. Vincent's Hospital in Santa Fé and Ambercare of Albuquerque.
A viewing will be held from 8:00 a.m. until 8:45 a.m. with a Rosary to be recited on Thursday, June 16, 2016 at 8:45 a.m. at García Mortuary ~ Chapel of Angels on the corner of 8th and Iron, followed by a Mass to be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. at Sacred Hearth Catholic Church, 309 Stover Ave. SW. Interment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Lisa Chacón-López, Stephen "Bullets" Chacón, Vince Chacón, Mark Pacheco Sr., John Chávez and José D. Pacheco. Honorary Pallbearers will be Greg Chacón, Mark Pacheco Jr., Stephen Chacón Jr. and Art Padilla.
