Mrs. Louise Lowery Isenhour, 93, passed away Tuesday, March 20, 2012, at Clemmons, NC. She was born September 15, 1918 in Iredell County, NC, and was the daughter of the late Randall S. Lowery Sr. and Etta Carter Lowery. A graduate of Cool Springs High School, class of 1937, she was married in 1940 to James William Isenhour Sr. who died March 27, 1982. For a number of years the Isenhours made their home in Virginia where she was involved in Real Estate Sales before becoming a clerk for the US Post Office.
Mrs. Isenhour was a long time member of Abilene Church of Christ, enjoyed working in her yard, loved her church, and all children.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Maria Nenette Isenhour in 2002, along with one brother, R.A. "Jack" Lowery, Jr., and six sisters, Martha L. Dellinger, Catherine L. Lanier, Wilma L. Boan, Pauline L. Ballard, Julie L. Haithcox and Mary L. Sherrill.
She is survived by her son, James W. Isenhour, Jr. of Statesville, and two sisters, Sarah L. Pilcher of Farmington, NC and Elizabeth L. Hoots of Advance, NC.
A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Isenhour will be conducted 10:30 AM Saturday, March 24, 2012, at Abilene Church of Christ. Mr. Jim Smith and Mr. Gerald Boan will officiate and burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will visit with friends in the church fellowship hall following the graveside services. Nephews will serve as active pallbearers.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of Elms Assisting Living, of Clemmons, NC, and to a very special nurse Joanne Broadway of Community Home Care and Hospice.
Memorials may be made to the church or charity of the donor's choice.
