Perryman MOORE was the son of John MOORE, V, CSA and wife Barbara "Barbary" ROBERTS. He married Susan Jane "Susie" TILLMAN 10 May 1888 in Brooks Co, GA.

In 1910 he was working for a Stock Dealer in retail livestock, in Tifton, Tift Co, GA.

They had 3 children. The only one I can not locate is son Wallace Lane MOORE (b: 22 JUL 1888). He married Ruby MIZE in Mitchell Co, Ga. They divorced, she remarried to C. R. PRITCHETT. Wallace Lane MOORE was in prison at least twice for forgery. Was deemed "insane", and "disappears" after the 1917 draft.

Perryman's brother, Mathew Howard MOORE (1872-1944), was my great great grandfather.

Perryman or Perry and wife Susie are mentioned numerous times in the Tifton Gazette through the years.

HOTEL GEORGIA BURNED.
Destroyed by Fire Thursday Night. Cost $12,800. Insurance $9,000.
The Hotel Georgia was entirely destroyed by fire which broke out in the roof of the building last night about 7:30. The origin of the fire is unknown. The fire had gained good headway before discovered and when the firemen reached the scene of conflagration the entire roof was in flames.
The building and furnishings were owned by Mr. Perrman Moore and were valued at $12,800 with insurance of $9,000. Mr. J. E. D. Passmore rented the hotel a few months ago and was running it when destroyed. The hotel was slightly damaged by a small fire last week. The guests of the hotel suffered a total loss of their personal effects, very little of anything being saved.

A NEW HOTEL FOR TIFTON.
Work Befung by Mr. Perrman Moore on Three-Story Brick Building.
Work began this week on the excavation for a three-story hotel for Tifton. It is being built by Mr. Perryman Moore, former owner of the Hotel Georgia which was burned early in the year.
The new hotel is being built on the west side of Main Street, between third and fifth, and is a block nearer the center of the business section than the hotel which was burned. It will be brick and will contain between forty and fifty rooms.
The building will be 100x150 feet. The lower floor will contain four store rooms each 20x70, with the hotel lobby. The kitchen, dining-room and sample room will be in the rear. The erection of this modern structure will give Tifton two up-to-date hotels, such as few cities of its size enjoy.
The site on which the hotel is being built is an excellent illustration of the rapid rise in value of Tifton real estate. The lot was bought from Pleman Gaskins of Jacksonville, Fla., for $4,000. Mr. Gaskins' father bought the land twenty-two years ago from Mr. H. H. Tift for $150. This is in an increase in value of over 100 per cent a year.

TO EXTEND BUILDING.
Mr. J. N. Horne sold last week to Mr. Perryman Moore the north half of the lot owned jointly by Mr. Horne and Mr. J. N. Brown. The lot is on the west side of Main Street and adjoins the lot purchased by Mr. Moore from Mr. Pleeman Gaskins a few weeks ago.
Mr. Moore has decided not to build a three-story hotel but says he will erect a two story building and include the half lot purchased from Mr. Horne. This will give him almost as many rooms, and the extra space will be used for the hotel lobby and other accessories unless the additional building is contracted for by a local firm which is now figuring on it.

Mr. Perryman Moore was the victim of a sneak thief Saturday night. He sleeps on a sleeping-porch at his Love Avenue residence, but undressed and left his clothes in a dressing room adjoining. Next morning $7.50 which he had left in his pants pocket the night before was gone, but the thief had overlooked some small change. There was no clue to the thief.

MAY BE THE NIGHT PROWLER.
A Mexican dollar, which it is believed he stole from the pockets of Mr. Harry Kulbersh at the home of Mr. Perryman Moore Tuesday night of last week, led to the arrest of Rufus Daniels, colored, Saturday morning.
Along with the four other robberies or attempts at robberies last week, as mentioned in the Gazette, someone entered Mr. Kulbersh's room and borrowed a Mexican dollar, a Canadian quarter and 45 cents in real change from his pockets. The theft was reported to Chief Thrasher and he took up the search. The Mexican dollar was found and traced through several parties to Daniels.
Daniels was working for the G.S.&F. on the isding being graded west of the main line here, and claims that he found the dollar near the railroad. He was carried before Justice's Sellars and Royal and bound over to the City Court under $200 bond, on a charge of larceny from the house.
