MR. E. L. MOORE, VALDOSTA.
From the Valdosta Times.

Hundreds of friends throughout this section were saddened by the announcement of the death of Mr. E. L. Moore, which occurred at his home on Patterson Street at 11 o'clock this morning.

Mr. Moore had been an invalid for several months and recently his condition grew much worse. He was confined to his home almost continuously since moving back to the county from his farm in Barrett last winter, but before that time his health had begun to fail. Several years ago he was attacked by rheumatism, and this disease, with complication, caused his death.

Mr. Moore was a native of Clinch county, but came to Valdosta about thirty-four years age. [sic] He was actively identified with the business life of this city. He served one term as mayor and was also a member of the city council for one or two terms, and was heavily interested in various manufacturing industries for a number of years. He was a saw mill and turpentine operator at Pearson for several years, moving from there back to Lowndes county.

Besides his wife, who is a sister of Messrs. C., B. F. and A. J. Strickland, of Valdosta, Mr. Moore leaves one daughter, Mrs. T. G. Cranford, of Valdosta. In his immediate family four brothers and two sisters survive him, Elisha Moore, of Berrien county, and Perryman Moore, of Tift county, are his brothers. The deceased was 70 years of age.

He was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church.

The funeral and interment was Saturday morning. The funeral sevices were held at the house and the burial at Sunset Hill Cemetery. The following were the pall-bearers:
Active pall bearers: J. H. Powell, F. B. Rivers, Joseph Alderman, J. G. Cranford, J. F. McCrackin, B. F. Winston.
Honorary pall bearers: Fred Brown, C. C. Varnedoe, J. T. Roberts, Willis Lang, E. H. Davis, O. K. Jones.

Elder A. V. Simms, pastor of the Valdosta Primitive Baptist Church conducted the funeral services.
