THE GETTYSBURG TIMES July 14, 1970

Elmer M Bigham, 81, husband of Lottie Carbaugh Bigham, died at his home at Fairfield R1, Monday afternoon at 4:15.
A native of Hamiltonban Twp., he was the son of the late John H and Anna Eyler Bigham. He was a member of the Brethren in Christ Church, Iron Springs, for 38 years and served as superintendent of the congregation for a number of years.
He had been employed by the Western Maryland Railroad for a number of years, the Gettysburg Furniture factory, Landis Tool Co., of Waynesboro, the grit mill at Greenstone and retired from the Gettysburg Shoe Co. 16 years ago.
Besides his wife, he is survived by three sons and a daughter, Paul D Bigham, Harrisburg;
Elmer L Bigham, Fayetteville; Howard J Bigham, Sparta, N.J., and Mrs. Daniel O Myers, Fairfield R1; seven grandsons, five granddaughters, seven great grandchildren and a number of nieces, nephews, three brothers and one sister; Amos C Bigham, Fairfield R1; Russell R Bigham, Gettysburg R6, and
Clarence D Bigham, Gettysburg R4, and Mrs. Alice Bollinger, Gettysburg.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 2:00 at the Brethren in Christ Church, Iron Springs. Burial will be made in the Fairfield Union Cemetery. Officiating will be the Revs. Earl Brechbill, Greencastle, and Charles Rife, Chambersburg.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Brethren in Christ Church, Iron Springs.
