Henry Watson Cornell, 65, died in New York City.

Born in Ithaca, he was a son of New York Governor Alonzo B. Cornell and Elen Augusta Covert Cornell. He was a grandson of Ezra Cornell, founder of Cornell University.

Henry Cornell was a graduate of Columbia Law School. He was a newspaper publisher, reporter and attorney.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Margaret Bouck Cornell, granddaughter of former Governor William C. Bouck of New York; four sons, Henry W. Cornell, Jr., Ezra Cornell and Franklin C. Cornell, all of New York City and Alonzo B. Cornell, II, Washington, D.C.; three daughters, Mrs. J. Hervey Sternbergh, Reading, Pennsylvania, Margaret B. Cornell and Elizabeth Cornell, both of New York City; one brother, Charles E. Cornell, Ithaca.

The funeral will be held in Sage Chapel, Cornell University. The Rev. Henry P. Horton, rector of St. John's Episcopal Church, will officiate. Interment will be in East Lawn Cemetery.
