Callender - Joseph L. Dorsey II age 51, the fight is over for "Joe Battle" AKA Joseph L. Dorsey II of The Callender Dorsey's. Joe was the youngest of the child of Joseph and L. Maxine (Lowry) Dorsey. Joe was born Sept. 4, 1964 at Fort Dodge, and passed away early Friday, June 10, 2016 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home, Fort Dodge, after a lengthy illness.

A Celebration of Life service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 13, at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, Callender, with Pastor Scott Licht officiating. A private family burial of cremains will be at the Callender Cemetery. Palmer Funeral Home, Gowrie is serving the family.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents; infant sisters, Mary Ann and Mary Suzanne; and brothers, Kelly and Steven Dorsey.

Joe was an avid, near rabid, fan of Hawkeye Football and Basketball as well as being a passionate fan of NASCAR racing. Joe very much enjoyed spending time with his friends and relatives especially his many nieces and nephews as well and great nephews and great nieces and for many of them he was their favorite uncle.

A carpenter by trade, Joe worked in many places including Colorado, Texas, California, and Nevada. He returned to Callender and worked many years for his brother Steve at Dorsey Construction.
