John York Jr. is the son of John and Anna Brown York. He was a Private in the 9th Regiment Connecticut Militia under Captain Jonathan Bill during the Revolutionary War. He was married to Keturah Brown. John moved to Brookfield New York in 1795. He became an ensign in Military in 1796, and Lieutenant in 1797. John and Keturah had the following children: John, Thomas, Keturah, Ichabod, Martha (Patty), Nancy, Lucinda, Lydia, Sally, and Lucy York.
