Lester G. Wichers, 83, of Prosser, entered into eternal rest with his Lord and Savior on June 1, 2016.
He was born on May 7, 1933 in Prairie View, Kansas to Henry John Wichers and Jennie (Edel) Wichers. Lester and his eight siblings were raised and educated near Bellingham, Washington. He served in the U.S. Army from 1953-1955 and then eight years in the Army Reserve. He married Muriel Marie Nims and the couple raised five children, Ricky, Vern, Darren, Mike and Tammy. Lester worked for General Electric before becoming a draftsman and architect with Fentron Industries in Seattle. He worked on many industrial and commercial building projects in downtown Seattle and retired from Herzog Industries.

Lester married Susan (Hill) Kirkpatrick on November 24, 1984 at the MGM in Reno, Nevada. They made their home in Seattle, Ballard and Bothell before moving to Prosser in 2007. A deeply religious man, he became a licensed minister and was known as Rev. Lester, officiating at hundreds of wedding ceremonies.

Lester, also known as the “Silver Haired Fox”, enjoyed playing pool and horseshoes. He loved listening to religious programming and watching the Seattle Seahawk’s. Lester and Susan enjoyed many cruises; living life to the fullest; and had great fun together.

Lester is survived by his wife of thirty-one years, Susan of Prosser; eight children, Mike Wichers, Darren Wichers, Ricky Wichers, Vern Wichers, Susan Richardson, Teresa Koop, Kathie Morin and Carie LaMarsh; three brothers, Eldon, Marvin and Cornelle Wichers; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Tammy Wichers; his former wife, Muriel Marie Nims; two sisters, Cora and Anneva; and three brothers, Renan, Harold and Burtis.

Funeral services were at Covenant Presbyterian Church.

Concluding services with Full Military Honors will follow in the Prosser Cemetery.
