Agnes Cowan was christened on 13th February 1800 in Kirmabreck, Kircudbrightshire, Scotland, the daughter of John Cowan and his wife Rosie Thomson.
In time, William McQueen became Minister of the Associate Session, later United Presbyterian Church, Pathstruie, Forteviot District, Perthshire, Scotland. The church was so out of the way that he also acted as doctor, lawyer and veterinary surgeon.
He and Agnes were married in Forteviot District on 28th August 1836. They lived in the U.P. Manse Pathstruie and had 3 children together, all christened in the Associate Session Chuch, Pathstruie:
1. Rosanna McQueen christened 9th July 1837
2. William Hannay McQueen christened 26th February 1842
3. Janet Hannay MzQueen christened 7th October 1844
