Buried in Sierre Madre Calif, member of a pioneer Albuquerque family. who died at her home in Sierra Madre. She was 90.

Mrs. Borradaile, widow of Col. John Borradaile, had been living in California since 1922.

Mrs. Borradaile was born 90 years tgo in the old Armijo home on the Old Town Plaza, now La Placita Restaurant. She was a daughter of Don Ambroslo Armijo, prominent Albuquerque landowner in the early days.

One of her brothers, the late Perfecto Armijo, was a prominent sheriff here in Alb in the 1880's.

The Armijo family lived in Los Poblanos before moving to Albuquerque more than a century ago.

Mrs. Borradaile was born in what Is now called the Patio Market, the section behind La Placita Restaurant. She recalled that the building facing the plaza, which now houses the restaurint, was built in 1881 while she was attending school In St. Louis.

Her husband, the late Col. John Borradaile, came to Albuquerque in the early days and served with the New Mexico
Volunteers In the Spanish-American War. He also led a militia company in Albuquerque in the early days, and was one of the founders of Bi.Hu Abyad Temple Shrine.

Mr. and Mrs. Borradaile lived In the Armijo home following their marriage and later moved to a red brick home on the corner of Sixteen and Gold SW, near the present Woman's Club.

Col. Borradaile died in Sierra Madre in 1927.

Mrs. Bomdaile was the owner of a historic image, Nuestra Senora de los Dolores, which is believed to have stood in Albuquerque's historic San Felipe de Neri Catholic Church at the time it was founded in 1706.

It was given to her father after he donated land and money for a church expansion project.

Mrs. Borradaile sent the image back to Albuquerque temporarily last summer during the city's 2501h Anniversary celebration,and it was displayed in the church. The image was brought here by a daughter, Mrs. Grace Borradaile Buchanan of Alhambra, Calif., former Albuquerque school teacher.

Also surviving are two other daughters. Mrs. Rebecca Colligan of Sierra Madre and Mrs. Pauline Stumm of Glendora, Calif.; and a sister, Mrs. Anita Otero of Pasadena.
