Anne Bookhout of Brooktondale, NY passed away Saturday, May 28, 2016 at her home.

She was born on March 23, 1948 in Oneonta, NY to Richard and Florence (Fieg) Bookhout.

She was a graduate of the Oneonta High School Class of 1966 and Cornell University Class of 1970. She returned to Oneonta where she later received a degree from Hartwick College in nursing and worked in healthcare in Oneonta in various capacities. In 1984, she moved to the Ithaca area where she again attended Cornell University, receiving a Master's in Healthcare Administration in 1988. She was the founder of Visiting Nurse Service of Ithaca and Tompkins County, serving 20 years as the CEO. She spent her final years realizing her dream of living on a horse farm, operating Quickland Stables, giving riding lessons to children and spending her time with her family, horses and dogs.

She is survived by her husband of 25 years, Robert Morgan, her son and daughter-in-law, Andrew and Denise Shedlock of Tallahassee, FL, her grandchildren Madeline and Ryan, her step daughter and son-in-law, Janice Morgan-Solano and Nickie Solano of Edmonton, Canada and her step-grandson, Kyle. She has four surviving siblings: Katherine Biggerstaff of Delmar, NY, William Bookhout of St. Augustine FL, Mary Wolcott of St. Augustine, FL and Richard Bookhout, Jr., of Troutman, NC.

She is predeceased by her sister, Elizabeth Boggs of Oneonta, NY.

Calling hours will be held at Bangs Funeral Home, 209 W. Green St, Ithaca from Noon to 2 PM on Sunday, June 5th. Upon the conclusion of calling hours, there will be a memorial service at the same location. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Cornell University School of Veterinary Medicine in Ithaca, NY.
