Lois Ilene (Hartman) Blevins was the daughter of Cliiford Frederick Hartman & Ruth Evelyn (Sealock) Blevins.

Lois was born October 1, 1926 in Sheridan County, Hoxie, Kansas. (Lois was # 3 of 7 children.)

On January 29, 1948 (in Stanislaus County, Turlock, California) Lois married Clarence Wiliam Blevins.

Lois and Clarence had 2 children:
(1) Leslie William Blevins
(2) Luetta Marie Blevins

OBITUARY

DUMAS - Lois I. Blevins, 80, died Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2006.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Dumas Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Steve Swanson, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Northlawn Memorial Gardens by Morrison Funeral Directors.

Mrs. Blevins was born Oct. 1, 1926, in Hoxie, Kan., to Clifford F. Hartman and Ruth Sealock Hartman. On Jan. 29, 1948, she married Clarence W. Blevins in Turlock, Calif., and had been a Dumas resident for 30 years. In 1988, she was named Moore County Woman of the Year. She was a longtime member of the Friendship Extension Homemakers Club. Being an outstanding member since 1978, she participated in the Art Bazaar, Moore County Fair and School Auction Spring Luncheon. She also provided transportation to and from Amarillo for cancer patients, delivered Meals on Wheels and was a foster parent and loving mother to many children.

She was a 30-year member of Dumas Church of the Nazarene and was actively involved with teaching adult Sunday school and the Young at Heart group. She was also president of Nazarene Missions International. Her hobbies included ceramics, sewing and gardening. In describing Mrs. Blevins, a friend once commented that she was the "kind of neighbor you love to live by."

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Loyal and Clifford Hartman.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Les W. Blevins and wife Sandra of Dumas; a daughter, Luetta M. Bentley of Amarillo; a granddaughter, Sona C. Blevins of Amarillo; a grandson, Darryl L. Blevins and wife Carlissa of Sayre, Okla.; two sisters, Pauline Handschy and husband John of Denver and Mary Lou Taylor of Phoenix; two brothers, Gene Hartman and wife Margaret of Scottsbluff, Neb., and Larry Hartman and wife Margaret of Carthage, Mo.; two sisters-in-law, Ruth Hartman of Fort Collins, Colo., and Anita Hartman of Denver; a great-granddaughter, Lesley B. Blevins of Amarillo; and a great-grandson, P.J. Blevins of Sayre.

The family suggests memorials be to Nazarene Missions International, Dumas Church of the Nazarene, 402 S. Porter, Dumas, TX 79029 or the Alzheimer's Association Panhandle Chapter, 1400 Wallace Blvd., Amarillo, TX 79106.

The family will be at 201 W. 18th in Dumas.
